Last Dr.'s Appt.
Last week we had another Dr.'s appointment for his 2 week check-up. He had gained about 6 oz. in less than a week so that is such an answer to prayer after the week before! The Dr. was very pleased with his progress as was I. He goes again in about a week for his one month check-up so we'll see then what he weighs... any guesses?

Micah Troyer!
Okay, so it's been a long 5 days and I have a lot to update and a lot of pictures to post. I'm sure most of you have already heard about everything that's been going on but in a nutshell Micah was born Monday afternoon at 2:46pm weighing in at 8 lbs. 2 oz. He was 20 3/4 in. long and everything was great! We took him home Wednesday and he ended up getting a little dehydrated and jaundis and they re-admitted him to the NICU here at the hospital. So, everything is good now, he's coming home tomorrow but it's been a hard couple of days. We've had a lot of people praying and we can definitely feel it and appreciate your prayers! I'll post more maybe tomorrow!

Trying this again
I published two posts last night on Dec. 12th that for some reason show I posted on Nov. 27th. Of course that would be impossible cause I didn't have Micah until Dec. 3rd and they are pics of him!
By the way
Oh and by the way, everything is good now! Micah came home Saturday and is doing very well. He's had several Dr.'s appointments and has checked out well! We are so glad he's home with us and we are enjoying all the time we're getting with him.
Not sure why the pics I just posted were posted with the date Nov. 27th... hmmm. Oh well, enjoy!

Pics of Micah
Here's some pics of our precious boy Micah. I'm working on posting more but I'm a bit slower now than I used to be at getting things uploaded! Plus there's so many I have to have time to sift through them all!
Update from Dr.
I went to the Dr. Friday and I was still dilated to only 2 but was 75% effaced which is good. She said she would induce me on Monday, Dec. 10th if I did not have him before then. I am really ready to have this baby!
Today at church, I noticed after service was over that he dropped so it won't be too long! I am getting really excited and have a feeling it won't be too much longer. We'll keep you posted!

Quick Update
Oh, I forgot to tell the update from the Dr. last week! I went Wednesday morning and got checked for the first time. I am 50% effaced and almost 2 cm. dilated. The Dr. was happy with that progess, although you can be at that stage for a long time... I go again this Friday to see about any more changes. The Dr. guessed about how big she thinks the baby is and she said maybe around 6 to 6 1/2 lbs. I am happy with that, I would have just been worried if she would have said like 8 or 9 already! Also, she said he is for sure head down which is good.
My blood pressure was a little high(according to me) according to the Dr. she said it was fine. So, as of this past Sunday I am 38 weeks so I have less than 2 weeks til my due date(although I'm not getting my hopes up of having him early). I'm uncomfortable but not miserable which is good. I'm still really enjoying being pregnant and I love that I can feel him move and kick in my belly all day! I think I'm going to miss that and I'm sad to let that part go. But at the same time, I am really ready to meet him and hold him and take care of him! Neil is definitely getting excited too, it just seems surreal right now that we could have this baby anytime.
I have pics of the shower/Thanksgiving dinner from last weekend to post so I'll try to do that soon!

Medela's recommendations on used breast pumps
I know it's weird that I'm blogging about this but I've had a lot of conversations with people about this lately and I just wanted you all to go look for yourself about what they recommend. Too bad they cost SOO much money!

Last shower/weekend events
This past Saturday we had our last shower and it was with my mom's side of the family. We also made it our family Thanksgiving celebration since it's so hard to get everyone together on the actual holiday anymore. We went to the Olive Garden for a late lunch Saturday afternoon and got to mingle with everyone and catch up. It was a great time. Everyone pitched in money so that Neil and I could purchase the last big item that we needed and that was our Travel System(for those of you not in baby land, a travel system is a stroller, car seat base, and carrier). We were able to go and purchase that at Babies R Us yesterday afternoon when we got back to town! I am so excited to have that and I feel really ready now! Neil got it all put together and it's in the car ready to go! I will try to post some pics soon of the travel system but unfortunately I forgot my camera so I don't have any from the shower.
I have Dr.'s Appointment Wednesday so I'll be sure to let you know what we find out!

Dr. Update
So, I have two Dr. visit updates to give since last week. I was going to the Dr. every two weeks up until today and now I go every week. But last week I had some major swelling in my feet that wasn't going away even in the morning after sleeping all night and after putting my feet up all evening. So I called the Dr. to see if I needed to be doing anything differently or whatever. They had me come in just to check all the normal stuff, weight, blood pressure, urine, etc. My bp was up a little bit so the nurse told me that I needed to stay off my feet at night and when I got home from work to put them up and not even cook dinner or anything. So, I've just been trying to be careful with all of that and it seems to be working because since then I haven't had near as much swelling and things.
Today I had my 36 week check up and I thought they might start checking me today but she didn't. She said she doesn't start checking until about 38 weeks with a first baby unless I've started to feel contractions at all or cramping. Since I haven't she's gonna wait and check me next Wed. at that appointment. I was kinda disappointed because I kinda wanted to know, however I also know it's not the most comfortable thing ever so I was glad I didn't have to go through that today. My weight and measurements are good she said. My bp was down a tad from last week so that was good too.
She told me what to look for as far as contractions and when to call them if I think I'm going into labor. That's exciting! I can't believe it's right around the corner!
Well, that's about it on the updates for now!

New Ebay items
We purchased a few new items off of Ebay last week because they were things we didn't receive off of our registry. I got them both for half-price including shipping so that helped out a lot.

I look kind of ridiculous wearing the carrier over my big belly! But you get the idea...

This was the carrier that Neil picked out because he said he'd actually wear it and no it doesn't count that he put it on for the picture, there actually has to be a baby in it!

Getting things done
So I've been going crazy lately because I feel like there's still so much to be done before the baby arrives to prepare but little by little I've been getting things checked off.
Two weeks ago Neil went and purchased a few things that we've been needing to get organized and then this weekend he worked on getting those things put in. He got some additional shelves for the laundry room to put things on that used to be in my kitchen because I was running out of cupboard space but needed room for bottles and baby-wear. So, he put those in this weekend and his mom Cindy and I worked on rearranging some of my cabinets so that we could fit all the bottles and toddler cups and plates, etc in there. We moved all the food stuff to the laundry room shelves(which is right off the kitchen). Then we washed all the bottles and plates and put them away. So they are ready to be used.
Neil and his step-dad Rodger installed a new storm door for our front door so that will be nice in the spring/summer and it will help keep the heat in in the winter.
Cindy and I took off for the mall and Babies R Us while Neil and Rodger were doing that. I had to do a few returns as well and pick up a few of the items we had not received yet. We dropped off a few items at Goodwill that I wanted to get rid of, then went to Babies R Us. Cindy and I were so bad, we weren't shopping for clothes, but they had such cute stuff so we ended up looking at the clothes quite a bit while we were there and she picked up several things. I got my diaper bag, baby monitors, bundle me, and pack n play sheet. Those are all things I really needed to have sooner rather than later so I was glad to be able to purchase those. Then we went to Castleton Mall to go to Motherhood Maternity and they didn't have one there anymore! So we looked around a little bit at some other stores like Penny's and Sears for what I needed but they didn't have it. So, I got the Clinique Bonus and then we were off to the Fashion Mall to go to their Motherhood store. I need a nightgown for the hospital and some other things as well. I had a frustrating experience with one of the sales ladies because she kept trying to push all these things off on me trying to get me to buy the most expensive stuff. But, I ended up getting what I needed and spending what I wanted in the end so it all worked out. We were about shopped out after all that so we headed back home to eat dinner. Neil went out to guy's night at Rick's (the usual Thursday night get-together) even though it was Friday and Cindy, Rodger and I went out to eat at Ted's Montana Grill. http://www.tedsmontanagrill.com/about.html
Saturday we got up and did some things around the house and then went out to lunch and to Sam's to purchase a new mattress and box springs for our guest room. We are getting a bedroom suit from Neil's fam that used to be his for our guest room in a couple of weeks but there was no mattress and box springs for the bed. So Cindy and Rodger offered to buy one for us because after all, they are the ones that sleep on it when they come! So we picked those up, got an ice cream cone from Chick-Fil-A and then headed back home. Cindy and I washed up some baby clothes, blankets, and burp clothes so they're ready for the hospital. I got the diaper bag packed and started packing my suitcase.
All in all, I would say it was a very productive weekend and I am thankful for all the help I had to get it done!

So you think you can dance?

Kelly and I at Conseco Fieldhouse for the live show of "So You Think You Can Dance". The top 10 performers from the Fox show that was on this summer toured to Indy last Sunday, Nov. 4th for a show! Kelly and I bought tickets to see them live cause we loved the show so much and the dances they did. It was amazing to see them do all their dances in real life because somehow watching it on TV makes it seem like the dances are easier than they really are or something. It was a good time. Although somewhat hard to concentrate on because the Colts/Patriots game was going on at the Dome just several blocks away and got over about 10 min. after we arrived at Conseco. So we watched the end of the game from inside on TVs and we were ahead until the last 6 min. and then we lost to the Patriots! It was so disappointing because we played really well and totally should have won but we didn't. So, then we went to sit down in our seats and were just kind of depressed about the game. By the way, the guys(Matthew and Neil) were at the game so we were all downtown but for different things. I was glad I have about 2 hours before I saw Neil though after the game was over because I knew he'd be in a bad mood! :)

4th Shower

Shower with Neil's side of the family.

Ladies at the shower holding my neice

Mom, me, and Kane

Neil's Aunt Debby(threw the shower), holding Marisa's daughter Cydni, Neil's sister Marisa, Neil's mom Cindy, Neil's Granny Dianne, and Neil's very pregnant wife me!
We had a lot of fun at this shower too! This was this past Saturday in Heyworth, IL. We went back to IL and did birthday celebrations as well last weekend.
Belly pics-33 weeks and Pack N Play
We're getting some of our bigger items which is great! Here's the Pack N Play we got last weekend! Neil's got it all put together already in our bedroom. In the top little basket area there is a mobile thing you can set up that covers the whole top of the pack n play and has little stuffed safari animals hanging down! How adorable is that?!

Breastfeeding Class
Neil and I took our breastfeeding class at the hospital two weeks ago. Let me just say that he was not OVERLY excited about going. He agreed to go without complaining at first but as he heard more and more comments from guys who had previously been with their wives to these classes, he started to get more uncomfortable. Well, I'm not going to go into detail all because if you haven't experienced it yet, I'll just let you be surprised and if you have experienced it, you know why Neil was somewhat uncomfortable. :) All in all, we both agreed that learned alot and were glad we took the class. Next step: actually putting into practice all the info we learned!!!
Due date: 7 weeks from today

2nd Baby Shower
Last weekend, on Oct. 7th I had my 2nd baby shower. This was given by Andrea Bowman, Kelly Hessel, and Jen Hills. I feel so blessed to have such great friends that would plan, organize and put together a shower for me. It was held at the Ferguson's house in Zionsville and we had a really good time! Here's a few shots from the fun event!

Dresser addition
Here's the dresser we got with some of the cute things we received from our shower on Sunday already on it! Neil and my dad put together the dresser while my mom and I were at the shower. We had a great time, but I was exhausted after that and church! Andrea, Jen, and Kelly put the shower on for me and we had it at the Ferguson's house. I feel so blessed to have such great friends!

Silly Hubby
What I love about my husband: he's not afraid to get dirty and "soapy"! This past Saturday the student ministry had a slip n' slide day out at a friend's house from church. Basically they just bought a big sheet of visqueen, a bunch of dish soap and a few sprinklers. They set it up in the front yard area where there's tons of room. Mike(the guy's house they were at) has a daughter that is 5 years old. When she came out and saw what they were setting up, Neil said she got so excited she peed her pants! But luckily she was outside and already had her swimsuit on! :)

Here's Neil with the soap all over his legs! :)

1st Baby Shower
My first baby shower was so much fun! It was really surreal like I was at someone else's baby shower, not my own! I feel so blessed that so many people showed up and helped celebrate with me. My mom got to come too but she was taking the pics so I don't have any pics of her! I have another shower Sunday so I'll have to make sure I get pics of her and I then.
Probably the most fun thing was getting everything home and setting it all up and organizing it in the Baby's Room! It made it feel so much more real!

Jen Jordan and I. She put together the shower along with the other two ladies in the pic below:

Lynette Harker and Kirsten Anders
We are at Lynette's house for the shower here. Cool story, Neil and I actually got engaged at their house on my internship so it was neat to be able to have the baby shower at their house too!

Carlie Cope and I. She is pregnant as well and is due in January. We live in the same neighborhood so we'll have to get our kids together to play since they'll be so close in age. They already have another son who is about 16 months old.
Thanks everyone who came to my shower and made it a memorable experience!

Another item
We got a bookshelf for the baby's room now too! Here's a couple pics of Austin(my brother) and Neil putting it together.

Almost there....

Finished product

It looks really nice in there! The room is starting to come together! I have my first official shower this weekend on Saturday so I'm sure it'll look different after that as well!

Oh yeah, and tonight we start taking a class with some friends from church called Baby Wise. We'll learn all about what they teach and see if it'll be right for us and our baby. It's a 6 week class...
