So, Micah had a birthday almost 2 weeks ago already, I can't believe it was that long ago! It is definitely a mixture of emotions at this point because he is growing up and doesn't need mommy and daddy as much as he used to. It's a good feeling of freedom for us but I love to be needed like that all the time. I just quit nursing last week, which was hard but Neil made me. He said I needed to just let go and quit and so I did. Even though it wasn't the easiest thing to do, I realize that it's time and it also means that we can be away from him some now too. We have never left him overnight yet, not because we're overprotective parents, but because we haven't really had the opportunity to. It would have just been more of a hassle to try to get frozen milk transported somewhere, get all of his stuff, etc. We don't have any family that lives real close, so we'd have to have someone come and pick him up or we'd have to leave him when we were in IL and it's just never panned out. However, I do think this weekend we will do just that! He is 1 now and it will be much easier to have him spend the night somewhere. So I think my parents are coming to pick Micah up and then we'll get him back on Sunday. I am looking forward to this time with just Neil so I can take care of him and focus on him. We'll see how it goes!
Micah is doing so many new things now! He's really picking up on the baby signs so well! He does: more, milk, all done, doggy, hot, bye bye, bath, and he's starting to say "thank you". We really worked on that at his party this weekend. I will post pics of his party soon.
Also, he's cruising around things, but not really wanting to walk on his own at all yet. I can tell he's getting stronger though and having a little bit more desire to be mobile.

Courtney and Mikey's visit to Indy

Mikey and Courtney came to visit a few weekends ago in November. We had a great time with them, it was great to catch up and do silly things like old times!
These pics are of us "candleing our ears". You buy these ear candles and put the tip in your ear and light the other end. While you wait for it to burn down, it sucks all the nasty wax out of your ears, it's amazing how much one person can have! It's the grossest, but coolest thing ever, and no it doesn't hurt. :)
