Reflux sucks- or actually it does the opposite

Last week Micah started crying during feedings and would not eat for very long before screaming! So we took him to the pediatrician's and she thinks maybe he has acid reflux and after eating for a couple of minutes, it starts to come back up since he's in a laying down position and then it burns. So he starts crying and won't eat because it hurts. So we waited it out over the weekend to see if it would get any better or if that's really what it was and it did not get any better. So, she told me to call her on Monday to let her know if we wanted medication. I called her and she called in the prescription for him and I picked it up on Monday. She told us it might take several days for it to really start kicking in so as of yet it's not totally working yet. I think it's getting better as he'll eat for the full time sometimes, just not all the time. I'm praying the medication takes care of it because I know he needs to eat more. So I'm having to feed him more often and I'm starting to feel like a cow. I hope this ends soon and he grows out of it but we do have family history with IBS and things so we'll see.
Other than that, things are going well here! Today is my dad's 50th birthday and he and my mom are coming to Indy tomorrow to celebrate. I'll post some pics after that!

Several Updates in one

Here's some recent pics of Micah. Sorry it's been a while since I've blogged but it's a little hard to keep up with! I take so many pics it's hard to keep up with posting those too!
We went to the Dr. last week and Micah is doing great! He weighed 9 lbs. 14 oz. and was 21 1/2 in. long. So, he's grown an inch and gained almost 2 lbs! He's in the 50th percentile for both those and his head circumfrance. I'm so proud of him! We've been keeping busy around here, the days seem to go so fast with everything I have to get done. Micah's on a good schedule and he's been sleeping really good at night. He's still been getting up to eat every 3 or so hours but other than that, he goes right back to sleep.
I've really been enjoying being at home with him all the time. We have a good time together. Neil and I went out with friends last Friday night while he stayed with a baby-sitter for 5 hours! That was the longest we'd been away from him. We went to see the movie Juno and I did really well being away from him until that end of the movie when she had the baby and I saw a newborn and I started missing him SOOO much! Good thing that was the end of the night and all we had to do was go pick him up.
I go "back to work" on Feb. 3rd but I'm only going back for 10 hours a week. That means that I'll work Sunday mornings and during the week from home a little bit. I'm also going to try to go into the office for a couple of hours one day during the week. This is a great fit for me because it's the best of both worlds.
Well, I need to go feed Micah and get him into bed for the night so I'll write more later! Enjoy the pics!

Being a mom

So being a mom is so much fun but a LOT of work! I feel like I knew quite a bit about how to be a mom before I had Micah but I think I was maybe a little overconfident. The first week or two was pretty scary, probably mostly because of the issues with feeding and jaundis where we had to go back to the hospital. Then I think my confidence just went downhill and I was worried that I would fail as a mom. Thank goodness for the strength of the Lord as I've had to rely on it so much in this new phase of my life. It's definitely getting much easier and more comfortable now as Micah is now a month old. I love every part about being a mom and can't wait to see what's in store for me each day. It's been great because Neil's had off work for the past two weeks so we've had plenty of time together to get to know Micah.
I'll post more pics later! :)
