It looks really nice in there! The room is starting to come together! I have my first official shower this weekend on Saturday so I'm sure it'll look different after that as well!
Be sure to keep posted!
Oh yeah, and tonight we start taking a class with some friends from church called Baby Wise. We'll learn all about what they teach and see if it'll be right for us and our baby. It's a 6 week class...

Vacation to Florida!

So, I've been a little lax in my blogging during the past week because Neil and I were on vacation with some friends in Florida! We went with Matt and Kelly Hessel to Naples where we stayed in a condo. The guys played a lot of sports while the girls did a lot of swimming and laying out! Here's some pics from the trip.
The four of us at sunset one night right near Naples Pier

Kissing on the beach....

Fun drinks at Yabba! Tropical Grill. We ate seafood outside, it was delicious!

The guys playing silly games with a tennis ball. This pool was really beautiful. We had it all to ourselves, it was so nice!

Looking out over the fairway. The condo resort we stayed at was built around a golf course so the side of the pool overlooked this beautiful view of the fairway.

Neil and I at the beach!

NO, the four of us did not sleep in the same bed! The first morning we were there, Kelly and I got up and made breakfast-pancakes for the guys and then we all ate in their bed.

Kelly and I laying out for like 10 min. We couldn't stand it much longer cause it was 95 degrees and SOOO humid!

We had a great week and are sad that we have to be back. It was very memorable and we hope to do it again next year. Some other things we did:
-Went to see 310 to Yuma at the theater
-Neil and Matt played tennis
-Watched movies inside
-Played a lot of "hand and foot"
-Went to the Miramar Outlet mall
-Ate at Stone Creek Grill
-Ate at Yabba Tropical Grill
-Ate at Cheeburger Cheeburger(no, there is not supposed to be an "s" in those words)
-Took bike rides

Dr.'s Appt. yesterday

Well, I am officially 28 weeks along and I had my regular check-up yesterday. I just met with the nurse cause my Dr. is gone and I just didn't want to change this appointment again cause I already had twice. I was on vacation last week(I'll post pics soon) so that threw off the timing of the glucose test and the regular appt. so I had to do them at different times.
The check-up was really quick, they measured, took my weight, blood pressure, and heard the heartbeat. Everything is going great they said! I was glad cause my blood pressure had been slightly high the first two Dr.'s appointments I had early on and now it's back to normal. I think I was just really nervous. The heartbeat was really loud and strong so I was glad about that.
I've been able to feel body parts moving around and jabbing me the past couple of days so that's cool too. I can put pressure on where I feel the movement and actually feel the baby.
Well, that's all for now! We got a bookshelf for the baby's room last week so I'll put some pics up of Neil putting it together and the finished product in the nursery. I'm excited too cause I have my first baby shower on Sept. 29th and then another one on Oct. 7th and then another one on Oct. 27th!

Glucose test drama

Well, about a week and a half ago I had my 27 week glucose test. The appointment was at 1:15pm and I got there around 10 after 1. The test itself takes about an hour to do. I checked in at the front desk and then I waited in the waiting room for them to call me until 1:40. When they called me, all they did was gave me the sweet(orange soda) drink that we have to drink, started the timer and weighed me. Then, they sent me back out to the waiting room for an hour. The timer finally went off at 2:42 or something and they called me back. I was so uncomfortable from sitting there for so long in those hard chairs. Plus, I was thinking, "if they were only handing me a drink, why did I have to wait for 30 min. to get it?!" Anyway, it was over and I had to go back and get some blood drawn. I did that, they told me I could leave so I checked out, got in the car and headed home. I still had one other stop to make on the way home, to get dog food and I was so tired from being at the Dr. for 1 and a half hours, but at least I was on my way... so I thought. I got about 2 miles away and I got a call on my cell phone. They told me that they forgot I had to get my Rogam shot(it's if the mother has negative blood type so the mother's body doesn't reject the baby's or something like that). So, I had to turn around and go back to the Dr.'s office. Not only was I not excited that I had to go back to the Dr. but I did not want to get a shot. It has been so long since I had had a shot that I forgot what they feel like. I get there and they thankfully take me right back and the nurse tells me to face the bed in the room and turn my feet in slightly. I look at her and say "where are we doin this thing at?!!" I assumed it was in the arm but no, it was definitely in the butt. Not fun. I even flinched cause I forgot that shots hurt worse than getting your blood taken. Then, after that was over, as if that wasn't enough, I had to go back out and get my blood drawn again in the other arm! I don't know why they didn't just take two vials the first time around but now I had three places on my body that hurt and were bleeding slightly. I was finally done and headed to the pet store to get food and just glad that the whole ordeal was over.
Luckily, the test turned out great and I did not have to come back to do an additional glucose test. That's what I was really dreading cause then I would have had to spend 4 hours in the Dr.'s office and I just don't have time for that.

My loving husband painting his baby's room, he's a fabulous painter!

Cute boy! Hope our boy takes after his daddy!

In the process of painting...

White walls...

Boring room...

So, this weekend since it was a 3 day weekend, we painted and cleaned out the nursery! I am so excited to have that done. It looks really nice. We had a gorgeous weekend here in Indy too and we could have the windows open with a nice breeze.
We also got all the junk that was in there cleaned out and put away(for the most part). Neil got up in the steamy attic and moved things around and put some boards across the beams to help support the things we have up there. He hates getting up there cause he's hot and itchy and gross but he knew it needed to be done. Then we moved some stuff into the closet in the guest bedroom and organized it. I thought it was gonna be jam packed but we actually ended up with more room than what we started with after organizing everything. We're gonna start getting the rest of our furniture pretty soon for the room too! That'll really start to make it feel like a bedroom and like someone will be using it soon....
