Well, it's been a while so I thought I'd update again, without pictures. Sorry, I have no time to add those right now.
Neil got back safely last Sunday (9 days ago) from Africa. He had a great trip to Kenya and learned a lot. They visited the slums and saw the conditions that these people live in while the Government does nothing and in fact, gets richer by the minute. They met a lady named Mary who started schools in the slums after becoming a Christian in College and noticing these poor living conditions. Her mission is to reach families through their kids who attend these schools on scholarships from sponsors. They started with 200 kids and are now up to 2000. Neil went to see how Traders Point could partner with Mary in building more schools and in sending more kids to school to learn about Jesus. Neil says that Mary is a mix between Mother Theresa and The Godfather. Apparently she has a beautiful heart but also has a great reputation with the thugs that live in the slums and they respect her for what she's doing there. So, they leave her and anyone that's with her alone and don't steal from her or anyone she's with!
Also, this past Sunday Neil was ordained officially. It was a great service that was very special held at 2:30 in the afternoon. We invited close friends and family and then we had a little shindig at our house afterwards to congratulate him. It was great to have all of our family come and support him and us and to spend some time with them.
I will post pics later of: our houseboat trip, my trip to IL, and Neil's ordination service.
